Tony Bones Does One of Our Display Cabinets!!!

It's here! And, we love it! You may have either seen one of our custom built display
cabinets
in the shop or on our blog. We had these wood cabinets made to act as both
storage and a canvas to showcase artwork from some amazing artists. So, we were so
happy when Tony Bones was excited about customizing one of these cabinets for our
shop. We've put it up by the window where the rest of his work is from his gallery opening.
Come and check it out!

Tin Tiffin !!!

Meet pretty, pretty, pretty, and pretty! Just got these beautiful tin three-tiered tiffins in!
You know our love of bento boxes, we thought these were perfect. Each level has it's
own lid (to separate each level and to use as a mini-dish) and the handle securely
holds the tiffins in place. Comes in four cheerful colours and embellished with a floral
design, these tiffins are a great way to carry your snacks, organize your little knick-knacks,
or to just brighten up your coffee table.

In case you don't know what a tiffin is used for, it was originally used in British India for
people to transport a light meal or lunch. The different tiers allows you to bring in a variety
of treats without them getting mixed up or soggy.

Ta Daaaa!!!!

Done! Our handmade / type / wood mini book shelf display thingy!!! (still working on a name!)

This (and next) Saturday and Sunday , we put our shop on wheels and traveled down the
street to Greenville Avenue for Red's Popshop. After all the hard work this week, we were
especially happy to be here this weekend. We unveiled a few brand new products under
our own label and design and definitely had a blast making new friends and hanging out
with some our buddies from our shop.

Big big thanks to Brian Gibb of The Public Trust and Tammy and William (cutest couple
ever!) from Red On Greenville
for organizing the whole shindig. They were both so
supportive and helpful. Thanks everyone that came out to support this event. Can't wait
til next weekend!

Our booth / mini-shop on wheels! Our own prints, exclusive from Holding Pattern, yo-yo's, our new shelves & more!

Really pleased with how these turned out. They all have brackets to mount on the wall to display individually (or
as a group of letters) or you can stack them on the floor like we did!

All 100% handmade by us, held together with strong wood pegs, made of either pine or oak.

Red's PopShop! Come down and check it out and support lower greenville.

We met the charming Marisa a few months ago while she was visiting from Austin and have been carrying her
lovely jewelry since. She just moved back Dallas so come and say hi and make her feel at home!

Fur Face Boy. Ha is so committed to his brand and his followers- really nice to see the Asian's in Dallas making
it happen! We count ourselves lucky to have gotten collaborate with him. Can't wait to see what's he's got next!

We love Will of Decade! Great style, great taste in fruit flavoured beverages (mango drank man!) AMAZING DJ, and
hilarious twitter-er. We got something in the works with Will so hang tight!

This is Lily's booth from Lilco Letterpress. She is one of the nicest most easy to talk to people we've met in a long
time. Not to mention, her prints are killer.

We heart Bee-Things (and Jeff and Shay!!!) When it comes to graphic design and being aweome, these two
can't be beat.

Our booth neighbor, Decorazon Gallery! The rabbit prints on the left are so cool, apparently made with a burnt
credit card!

SOUR GRAPES! These guys were our across the booth neighbors!  So nice seeing them again, we still get
asked from customers about the huge turnout for the gallery opening!

O-No Sushi from Andrew Bell

Seems like we've been waiting forever for these! O-NO Sushi is finally here! From Andrew
Bell
, who is also responsible for the sold out Androids (which we immediately sold out
before we could put them on our website! don't worry, we're still trying to get more!).
Based on Andrew’s Never Look Back artwork, these toys will be one of the must-have
items of the San Diego Comic-Con and summer in general. Each figure has articulated
limbs, severed tentacles, extra eyes, sushi, bowl and terrific packaging.

Porcelain Feathers

These are absolutely beautiful in person. Four different very detailed porcelain finely
crafted feather sculptures. Individually or as a collection, these are lovely on a coffee table,
just hanging in front of a window, or (when the time comes) decorating your Christmas tree.
They all come with a white satin ribbon so they're easy to handle.

We're building stuff!

Safety First!

So, we've been pretty light on our post these last few weeks, but we have good reason!
Last week (and even now) we've turned ShopDad's garage into our studio. We had planned
to release a few designs and projects under our own brand for our one year anniversary,
around Thanksgiving. But, thanks to a random conversation in San Francisco (that brought
our amazingly talented theatre production construction / gifted photographer cousin Adam
to Dallas) and the Red On Greenville Pop Shop, we dialed up the timeline superspeed!

So... we had this idea (handmade wood shelves where the negative space forms a letter;
our own version of a three-dimensional font that could be used to decorate or personalize
your space) that we had no idea how to actually build, since the three of us had zero
woodwork experience. THANK GOD, Adam came down to help us with everything -
from coming up with a very viable, accurate, and buildable design that stuck to our ideas..
to actually teaching us how to use powertools (AWESOME!!!) and to build out the designs.
After several long hot days and nights, we finished our first set for the PopShop! We're really
proud of our first effort and so grateful for all of Adam's hardwork and expertise.

Step 01. Cutting down the lumber

Step 02. Making a mess

Step 03. Trimming down the wood to more accurate measurements

Step 04. Drilling holes in each piece for the wood pegs

Step 05. Organizing all the different pieces and measurements

Step 06. Clamping the pieces together and securing them with the wood pegs

Step 07. Working reallllly late

Step 08. Trimming off the excess and sanding down

Step 09. Almost done! Love the geometric shape these take when they're all lines up together!

Wooden Artists Hands

A little bit creepy, but really beautiful, these wooden mannequin hands are perfect for
home decor (on it's own or holding one of your special keepsakes), displaying jewelry,
sending messages, we used them hold notes, or just good old fashioned modeling.
The hands are all realistically proportioned and all the joints have a smooth range
of movement.

Red On Greenville's POP SHOP!

We've been insanely busy these last few weeks - getting ready for the holidays, couple of
special projects (coming soon!), and getting ready for RED'S POP SHOP. We love Dallas
and Lower Greenville, so we we're really happy to get invited to participate in this event.
We'll be bringing some exclusive and new goodies from our shop - we've never done
anything like this so, it should be really interesting!

via RedOnGreenville...  Coming soon to a location on Lower Greenville, one of the season's
most secretly anticipated events, an amalgamation of Dallas's foremost taste-makers, an
explosion of culture, retail experience, where art and design get fresh... RED'S POP SHOP.
Temporarily popping next door to Watel's World Piece Cafe for an entirety of four days
during the last two weekends in September and co-curated by yours truly and Brian Gibb
of The Public Trust, Red's Pop Shop will feature Decade, Fur Face Boy, Lilco Letterpress,
The Public Trust, and WE ARE 1976 and more! The exquisite extravaganza is brought to
you with the intention of providing an accessible platform for individuals to view an array
of homegrown talent while supporting the Lower Greenville area. More to come in the way
of vendors and the kickoff part will take place the night of September 18th at Good Records.
In the meantime, spread the word! A great big special thanks to The Dallas Observer for
providing media sponsorship! X Red
